It's great for the first year or two but then you start to want to actually do something with your life instead of feeling like a worthless sack of shit 24/7

I was NEET for a couple years in college and it was great, the problem is if you're going to be NEET past your 30s you'll start to develop severe bouts of lonliness, depression, and become incredible self loathing. you don't even really notice it at first because your life is just "sleep all day, wake up at 2pm, play games all day into the early hours of the next morning, eat occassionally, sleep, repeat". You start to feel like a worthless piece of shit not contributing to anybody or anyone, not your family, not society, not your friends (if you even have any). So yea it's cool for a couple years to take a break especially during college when you've likely been working since age 15 but if you keep doing that your whole life you'll probably end up suicidal by the time you're 30, and if you have no skills in life and you want to start becoming your own individual person, not having to rely on mommy and daddy to support you, you need to have a decent enough job to live by yourself, and to get a nice job, you need both effort and time invested. if you're 30 and you're starting to get into this now, you won't have a decent job until you're late 30s early 40s, at which point you really fucked up a big part of your life...too late for kids, too late to have a wife who doesn't already have kids or was married previously..and in general no one wants to be around a lazy slob and your parents surely aren't going to put up with this for much longer

One of my fears about potential children is the possibility of rolling a NEET

I think the fact that you use the term "rolling" ensures that you're safe from that ever happening.

There's a lot of variation for people. Some people just don't have any drive or ambition. They also lack the self awareness to realize they're leeching from their family and society. These days those people get to be NEETs.

Just change the times around, insert a couple frames where he's stuck in traffic, and yeah, that's a lot of office workers' weekdays. That's why many of them get smashed on the weekend to break the miserable monotony.

You can tell them to get a job, go to school or get out of your house at 18
