just spoke with the recruiter for the position, she set up a phone interview with the hiring manager tomorrow.
seems that the pay is in-line with a 30% increase in salary so now i am going to check traffic maps at like 5pm to see how bad the drive back is. I think I have it in me if the drive is just an hour, but if it's like an hour and a half i'll be nervous --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

I do this currently. I used to drive there, gave up, then started taking the bus. It's a popular route so I have to get to the stop early or I miss it/have to stand. Even in shared lanes it's 45+ minutes on average. It's the pits, and while I'd love to get out of here, jobs suck right now here.

They don't? Not from the US, but it's a common practice where I live. Not here. They don't pay for time either, which is the part I actually care more about. In America, you have to be at your job from 9AM to 5PM. They pay you for that time. Which means you use your off-the-clock time to drive to and from the office. I.e. I leave my apartment at 845, so those 15 minutes are off the clock. I couldn't care less about the meager gas reimbursement, my gripe comes from the time that is technically mine being spent stuck in traffic. --- Not removing this until Pat Benatar is in Super Smash Bros.
