I thought liberals agreed with this (especially after last election and also 2000).

And in the article Trump says he would have run a different campaign if it was based on the popular vote. So what's wrong with him saying this?

Interesting aside about the College bringing certain states into play. A direct popular vote would give each individual voter a real voice at the ballot box though. That sounds like a better deal for America, instead of weakening the individual vote just to prop up a few states where people may or may not even want to live.

How, exactly? All this shows is that population density varies. It doesn't actually say anything about how a popular vote would function.

If anything, that's an argument FOR popular vote. The population of the super populated areas is pretty much equal to the population of all the low populated areas combined. That's almost a 50/50 split. So city folk and country folk would have about an even say

Actually, only 3 votes were legit. Literally all of the other votes were from illegal immigrants. My vote for hillary was legit. DifferentialEquation's vote for trump was legit. 1 other trump vote from some random troll in Florida was unfortunately legit. All other votes were from illegals, including both trump and hillary who I can only assume voted for each other.

I have an intricate spider web of gimmicks and one of the strands is emulating the gimmicks of others and sometimes one upping them at their own gimmicks.

Also lol at "It's not that hard." That's what your mom said to me last night. My response was "Well I'm really drunk and honestly I don't find you all that attractive." She promptly kicked me out :/

That response helps further illustrate the importance in making sure the less densely populated states and areas receive proper representation, instead of our elected officials completely disregarding them (calling it empty land). The United States remember.

Straight popular vote is more appropriate for smaller nations that aren't already divided up into smaller states but it's different here.

Because voting laws vary from state to state, moving to a popular vote would disproportionately benefit the Democrats. Blue states like NY and California would easily boost their voter turn outs.

And conservatives in those states and other blue states would actually get better representation. Vice versa for liberals in red states.

I get it. It's just that 'but if everyone's vote counted equally, then Republicans would always lose!' is an odd argument. It assumes we should have a vested interest in the vitality of the Republican party.
