Writing a paper for my prof. about gender discrimination, but because she's a radical feminist she's expecting a bunch of papers about women being put down by society, well, I thought I'd flip the script and do men, but I need solid, undisputable points. What've you got CE?

Domestic issues. Men are expected to be, well, the "man" of the house. Do not be fooled, A LOT of women still expect their men to be the majority provider, and take care of the family. A man who doesn't do these man-like things is generally frowned upon, and scrutinized a bit more than a woman.

Also, general emotion scenarios. Men are to be the "strong" ones. We still haven't left many of these concepts behind.

Yep, despite most domestic violence being mutual combat (where the the physical portion is statistically typically initiated by the female partner), AND male on female un-reciprocated DV has demonstrably decreased over the past half a century plus to levels that are actually currently lower than female on male un-reciprocated DV IIRC, the problem is still primarily viewed and treated by the mainstream as a "male hitting female = bad" issue only.

The most impactful discrimination against men I can think of (I'm sure there are others) is when it comes to rape and other forms of sexual assault (and harassment). It seems like men will often get laughed out of the room if they said something like, "I think I was raped last night."

True, but I don't think the prof. will even bat an eye at something like that.

the hilariously ironic thing about this topic being "boooo feminism" is that most feminists acknowledge this crap in their activism.

the even better thing about much of the discrimination towards men: it's rooted in old patriarchal standards about women being more "innocent" and "domesticated" than men. hence, child custody cases often ruling in favor of the mother.

Nothing, but it's how she acts out of the classroom that displays that she's a feminist. Like wearing the stupid pink hat and taking it off right before class begins, having a ripped up burned MAGA hat displayed on her desk (which, to be fair, isn't directly linked to feminism), she has a stupid sign pinned behind her desk about women empowerment or something. And she's just really bitter towards dudes in general. (Edit: Also, one of my friends says that he went to one of the rally's one time and saw her there, hat, shirt, sign and all.)

This might come down to wisdom. You gotta learn to pick your battles. You have more to lose her than she does.

but rather that behavior is an unstated factor in teachers' grading of students that is not on any rubric

and girls' behavior is categorically better than boys'

"women are always right". Never question them ever. I grew up in a family full of women. Seriously they have to have things their way way more than men do. Why a lot of men just end up going with the flow and never complain about anything ever.

Again, I think you're projecting a lot onto this professor. Especially since, as someone pointed out in this topic, many of the examples of discrimination against males come from the same gender norms that discriminate against females, so by identifying this you aren't disagreeing with her...you're just supporting her point.

Also, no faculty member wants to deal with a student contesting a grade based on that sort of bias, so as long as you have a well written paper, she isn't going to bother "punishing you for wrongthink".

She didn't limit the length of the paper, so maybe I could do both sides, for men and women. You think she'd still fail me?

Aren't men discriminated against when it comes to car insurance? That's the only thing I can think of that would have objective evidence, if I'm right anyway.

wrong. boys are punished more. this is a fact. and girl behavior is not "better" than boys. boys are punished for being boys, IE for being more active and physical and energetic at that age. the public education system has deemed boy behavior to be bad and girl behavior to be good not because either one is inherently good or bad, but because there is an anti male bias

Just give her what she wants. not worth a bad grade to prove a point. Then maybe like someone else suggested give her the paper you want to write after she can no longer have an impact on your grade
