I just had a thought while playing CoD: WWII that there are many people with entire families who never saw combat in either world war, and it's foreign to me. I grew up around people who never stopped talking about it, and just assumed everybody had family involved. It makes more sense that those living in neutral areas wouldn't, but places in a state of war just feel like it would be common.
In my direct line, only my dad's dad didn't fight, but he was an engineer, so his additional skills went to use where they were needed. Other than that, pretty much all the fighting age males volunteered for the army or navy in WWI and WWII. --- "message parlor" ? do you mean the post office ? - SlayerX888 ... Copied to Clipboard!
