I try watching but the jokes seem so...tame I guess you can say. Maybe we are too used to edgy humor from South Park, Family Guy. Also, most of the jokes and humorous types of interactions are ones we've seen dozens of times already.

I dislike that they exist and I still watch them cause they are accessible on Hulu and Im a sucker for nostalgia.

A lot of the performances by the VAs sound half assed. Especially Lisa, though Yeardley Smith was always a shit tier actor.
Also the jokes just seem very... I dunno... A lot of them are overly referential to pop culture to the point if you don't understand the reference it's not funny. But then the jokes that don't reference things aren't funny either because they just seem kinda flat.

I think overall the show has just gotten less and less cartoony and more sitcom-y. Something I notice when watching older ones is just how zany the older eps were. A lot of slapstick and visual gags really silly jokes that almost seem childish compared to what the show is today. BUT I say that in a good way. That's what the show is missing, silliness.

I was watching this past Sunday and Marge and Lisa both sound poor compared to how they used to. Is it a strain on the VA to do Marge's voice? Homer still sounded great.

What I don't like is how they killed off Nedna after so little time. I get the VA died, but still. At least give Bart a new permanent teacher.

doesnt have the bite of the old simpsons that was considered edgy, doesnt have the heart of the old seasons, and the writing just isnt strong or inspired enough to make the show worth watching.

Everyone's qualities are just turned up to 11 now, both good and bad. They are almost stereotypes of what they were back in Seasons 3-7.

I didn't just stop watching the simpsons 5 years ago or so, but fox sunday in general.

The fall of the Simpsons kinda shows why tldr the jokes got a lot less funny and storylines seemed to not matter

the voices are dying
the pacing is awful and confused
the stories don't even begin to try
the jokes are predictable, easy, drawn out, and typically overexplained
character depth and consistency are all gone and it's impossible to give a shit about anyone anymore
even the animation is dull, sterile, and notably stiff compared to the original run
the writers make no attempts to be subversive or creative anymore, they just do things in the most by-the-numbers ways
