Its a wireless doorbell that came with the house and the batteries died out a couple weeks ago so I put new ones in yesterday when I got home from work.

Now, two nights in a row, the thing goes off with nobody at the door.

Scaring the crap out of me this late at night

Sticky button? Something that interferes on the same frequency? Why would it do this ??

I remember our house having this problem as a kid and it turned out to just be faulty in the end. I wouldn't jump to crazy conclusions just yet lol

I think Im just gonna get a new doorbell entirely.

Thing has me shook here . I did fiddle with a setting Im not sure what it does - there are two switches on both the doorbell and the unit that makes the sound inside the home.

They were both on 1 and 2. I switched them to 1 on, and 2 in the opposite direction. Why in the world would a random doorbell be a feature ? The one last night went off at 9:08 PM and this one was like at 10. If I hear a doorbell tomorrow at 11 Im going to shit myself

You know what the weird thing was? My dog and cats didnt even hear it. My dog slept thru a doorbell ring. The fuck?

I just dont get why this shit cant glitch out during the day when Id be less freaked out.

But it cant be a coincidence that it starts acting up the second I replace the batteries.
Either I need to change the setting back to what it was, or this thing just needs to go.

Why in the world would a random doorbell be a feature

If it's a wireless doorbell then it may be receiving signals from other doorbells near your house or interference from local electronic devices like your cell or your G.D.O's.

Can't you edit the frequency? Wireless models should allow you to change it. I have a wired one and it never has given any problems. Try that and see if it resolves it. If not, then you're looking at an exciting trip to The Home Depot. Only make sure that you get one that has a frequency limiter on It.

And then change the frequency on the box. Im not even sure what they were on initially. I got cute and wanted to change the tone and now I got this .
