Girls are raised to gently let people down. Specifically, they're raised to let men down without actually putting the reasoning as being of his doing given the fact that men who get turned down can and have reacted in ways that resulted in injury or death to women who turned them down. If you can't take a clue, I'll spell it for you: she's being nice but based off your shoulder massage thing, even if it's a joke?
