Yeah I like them a lot & they have been very supportive and wonderful up until this point, and have become a part of the main "crew" fairly quickly, so this kinda fuckin blows.

I'm gonna try to see them again tonight and get a more sober conversation about this. It ended with us sticking with it, but obviously something more is up. Kept telling me that it feels distant when we aren't together, and when I asked what they wanted to do I was told that's a "cop out response".

Yeah do this and don't be vague about things - for example when she says she feels like you're being distant I would ask what she means by that specifically as far as how you're behaving so you have something clear and actionable.

But either way it sounds like she really likes you and you're the same so don't fret too much buddy, I think you'll be okay

Thats extra shitty, like I understand normal anxiety and misreading a partner as distant but when other people are putting it in their mind like that then its harder to defend against. Gotta find a way for them to trust you when you say youre happy and enjoying the relationship but I swear like 90% of relationships involve someone lying about that right up until the end so it can be real difficult.

We had the talk tonight

I'm exhausted and drained so im not going into detail rn but after this i dont think i want to make it work, even though they sincerely do. Complications have been introduced that I'm just not emotionally equipped to deal with at this point.

Basically we were all hanging out n drinking; they got considerably more drunk than anyone else, like black out drunk, and spent much of the night hitting on my best friend very aggressively. I noticed this, and I was hoping they'd bring it up, rather than me having to do so, and they did. They apologized for everything, and insisted that the didn't mean any of what happened and are not attracted to my friend at all; on one hand I believe this fully, on the other it's just a hard thing to get past. They were BLACKED OUT and had no recollection of this until he reminded them, at which point they got upset and had me come over to talk again immediately.

I'm also suspicious of my friend now, as he didn't mention any of this to me at all, and has separately told both of us to just "cut our losses", while also inviting them to our plans to hang out again this weekend.
