I put graphical quality at the bottom of the list I pay attention to. I can still appreciate good graphics, like in Uncharted 4, but there are so many other things that add to the experience than how good the textures are.

aesthetics are extremely important. what doesn't matter is if the game looks ultra realistic to life. it's all about cohesion and atmosphere imo. Wind Waker had excellent aesthetics and artistic cohesion.

To be honest, i still believe it depends on each person, or at least it does for me, i'm willing to ignore the flaws a game has if the music is outstanding.

That doesn't mean i'm blind to them, its just that they don't really detract too much from the experience, a game would have to be absolutely fucking garbage for me to hate it.

I dunno, people can get legitimately annoyed enough at a plot to stop playing.

Story gives context to the characters actions. Its a big part of why I thought Watch_Dogs was so-so. The game plays okay but Aiden is a really shitty protagonist and knowing Im doing all this stuff to reinforce his constant hypocrisy where he learns nothing gets annoying after awhile.

I think part of why no one complains about graphics now is because any random indie dev can buy a ue4 license and make a nice looking game. Whether realistic or some creative art style

It should be balanced.

I mean plenty of times I've stopped and gawked at the scenery in games.

But yet who plays a game just for the soul reason to look at the scenery ?

I consider Minecraft to be a good game, and it doesn't have good graphics or a story. <.<

But I also like some games with a good story and good graphics.

Overall I would say that all three are important, but Gameplay is the most important, followed by aesthetic, and finally story (depending on the genre, a sandbox game like Minecraft doesn't need a good story, but for an RPG the story is more important).

The argument of whether graphics were critical or not was decided some time ago when the mainstream became saturated with shitty dull games that go to great lengths to have highly realistic visuals alongside the rise of the indie scene making bank by basically making the same handful of games over and over again with retro visuals.
