This year is a pretty interesting year as far as taxes go. I got fired twice, so I've been scrambling to get my W2's done. Only my current employer sent my W-2 in the mail.

I called the first job I was fired from. I was finally able to get my W-2, although it took a lot of leg-pulling.

The second job I was fired from I still do not have my W-2 for. Keep in mind, I only worked there for 1 week and a day. Do I even bother with that? Such a low timeframe.

well for that second job, did you elect not to pay taxes? ie put anything other than 0-2 on it? then the govt probably owes you money so you can just ignore if it you want.

but if you didn't pay taxes on it or put 3 in the withholding thing or whatever, you owe them taxes if you made over.. 7000 in total all income? i think? and they want their money

did they not submit a w-2 for wages paid to you to the government?

if they did not you are not liable as there is no record

it'd be insane for them not to as you're an operating cost, and if they sent one to the gov they should have one for you

Like you said, it would be crazy if they didn't

I did have an address change. But I updated the post office and had everything redirected to my new one

I put 0 on the withholding, so I would have been getting the maximum amount taken out

Tc, go to the closest H&R Block and get info on your local IRS office. They only do meetings by phone and you'll be on hold for a very long time, but they'll be able to find your documents

Update. I called the job yesterday and the rep told me they would call me back. They never did, of course.

I called again today and the guy emailed me my W-2 easily. I just filled my taxes and I'm getting $1,600 back. Not bad.
