Like 5 years ago ish, there was rattlings about the possibility of a live action. IIRC Christian Bale's name was mentioned about starring as snake.. I don't know if that was all bollocks or not, but I would have watched it :o

if it was done well, yes definitely. but its the kind of series that needs a AAA budget and a lot of effort put in from world class writers. a half assed version of the game would be trash like every other game movie out there

What makes Metal Gear Solid great is that it's a videogame. If it was live action it would be cringe. There are too many silly stuff in Metal Gear Solid!

It could work, but the writer would have to be really good at presenting espionage without giving away obvious twists. Plus, with todays crowd, theres too much temptation to make it another cheesy action movie, ala Paul Anderson or Michael Bay.
