Also being from San Francisco...

Puts me an hour from the redwoods, a few hours to snowboarding in lake Tahoe, a few hours to Yosemite, 15 mins from the beach.

I have 3 airports within an hour with cheap flights. 6 major professional sports teams. Shows going on every day of the year. Amazing food. Decent bars for bar hopping.

Reno, Tahoe, San Diego, LA, or Santa Barbara can all be weekend trips.

I can think of no better place to live.

I hate humidity. Not all flyover states have high humidity but it seems like a number of them do.

Give me low humidity summers, access to swimming waters in the summer, and lots of trees or at least ability to grow trees and I will be happy.

So you think the California coast is the best place to live. That's fine, but it's also the most expensive by far. And a lot of people agree with you, so the one thing you lack is peace and quiet.

I didn't base it on who they voted for but on why they voted for him. I also know that wasn't everyone that voted for him but definitely a good chunk of his base. Especially the more vocal portion.

Yeah at beaches there is a totally different culture as well. Plus i like surfering, so the coast life just works for me in general.

Because I prefer sprawling urban/suburban areas and living on the coast (though I'm currently much further from the beach than is ideal). I couldn't imagine ever living in the interior of the country for any extended period of time.

We have plenty of large cities just like anywhere else, just spread further apart.

It's literally just like the coasts except there's no beach.

The whole country is basically the same in metropolitan areas.

If you live in Kansas City there's a ton of shit to do just like any other major city. The cost of living is also obviously much lower.

Lot of misconceptions about "flyover states".

Flyover state=state I don't like due to my ignorance or belief in a stereotype about said states .... at least on CE. As someone else said, its funny that a site filled with comic book, video game, anime, internet, and table top gaming nerds that rarely interact outside much spend so much time judging what state other people live in.

Because you cant articulate why. I've also experienced both since I lived in a coastal state.

Really I never denied they were different experiences. I denied the beach is better.
