I remember people downplaying the political themes and then saying Ubisoft is a bunch of pussies for not putting in enough once it came out.

It's just funny because I can't remember playing such a pro 2A game in my life. Like the game literally shoves it in your face that the only reason the people are able to fight back is because they have access to their own firepower.

The entire beginning of the game doesn't even make sense. There is zero chance they would have landed that helicopter after seeing the compound irl. They would have gone back and there would've been a raid by ATF that puts Waco to shame.

I remember people SAYING people were complaining about that, but I actually remember certain users getting a boner about the idea of killing alt right/Christian fundies

And while I haven't seen those same users here complain it isn't political enough, I find it funny that gaming journalists apparently did.

So yeah, Polygon had an article about it, both a preview and the review (different authors) where they panned the fact that the story sets itself up as something topical and interesting but never really goes anywhere with it.

That's what Mal+others mean when they say "People mad they couldn't kill conservatives".

I mean sure, Far Cry is not especially known for deep plots, but promotional material suggested that there might have been something deeper to it from a narrative standpoint.

You can find a lot of examples of crazy nobodies on all sides of a spectrum. In this case, it's not just random nobodies who are confused at a good guy who doesn't like Obama, it's public figures and people with jobs in journalism.
