Let's pretend you can't access a review website or that we're living in the 00s when there wasn't a metacritic (or gamerankings?). How good are you at predicting how good a game will be solely based on gameplay videos, trailers, and your awareness of the franchise's success (if it already has had some game releases in the past) before it comes out?

Its fairly easy:

1) if its a AAA game, or an Atlus game, or a Nintendo game, its very likely not to be shit
2) Look at the screenshots. If its got good graphics then some effort went into it and its likely not to be trash
3) If the game looks like a new IP, or does some cool innovative thing with game mechanics (Think: TWEWY), the game is probably fun

4) if its just some racer or fighting game or shooter its probably trash or bland
5) if its Babiez Barbiez Horsez or some shit it is guaranteed trash
6) if it had a TV commercial it was probably good

Now, there are plenty of great games that look bad but are actually amazing when you play them. These are real gems and hard to find yourself.
