If your life has no inherent purpose, you can create your own purpose in life. If there's nothing after death, there's no reason not to enjoy life on Earth to its fullest.

believing there is nothing after death as a certainty requires a level of blind faith equal to those who claim (based on religious reasoning) to know exactly what happens after death.

If there's nothing after death then from your perspective you will be time-traveling at infinite speed to the end of the world. From your perspective, everybody else dies too when you do. Nothing had mattered and nothing ever will again.

It's not an inability to deal with non-existence, it's an inability to deal with the unknown. Human beings have created myths and stories about every unknown they have encountered, and most of them played out exactly like how many people view the afterlife. My first assumption is that afterlives were first developed as a solution to the unknown of death, and since no one comes back from death, it's one of the few unknowns we can't actively map.

The world would have ended for me after I die. All our senses, our brain, our heart, our consciousness stop working when we die. The world is only as real as our brain and eyes interpret it. So nothing will matter for the person after he's dead.

how do you know this reality isnt a simulation? this simulation could be a training course that certain people take to gain new experiences, during which you do not realize you are in a simulation. at the end of the simulation, you die and you awaken to your actual reality.

That's not how it works. You don't prove a negative.
You make the claim there are souls and that there is an afterlife. The burden of proof is now on you to show us you're right.

Since you can't prove the above, the logical thing is to not believe in them until such evidence appears.

I never said I have facts. I said I believe such and such. but I didn't say it's true. I don't know. TC pretends like he knows. that is the difference

Because we are wired to want to continue living. Unless you suffer from severe depression and want to die. I personally believe in some form of reincarnation.

Yeah, I guess it just sparked that particular thought. Either way, though, logic would pretty clearly dictate that the burden of proof is based on the person making the claim, and since belief in a particular afterlife is not inherent in humanity, any belief in an afterlife is a claim.

There isn't anything after death. I'm unsure why you think there is

Youre mixing arguments. TC made a claim. He has no evidence for that claim. Likewise, anyone who claims there is an afterlife has also not provided any reliable evidence for it.

TC should have just said he doesnt know whether there is an afterlife or not and no one else seems to know either. He went one step further and took the burden of proof onto himself.
