It's a little melodramatic with how much they seem devistated about the move which seems silly when they're so young to be that Nostalgic. Sure it works as the prequel to 2 games, but on its own it seems silly in context.

But damn both the whole

1. "Actually it's not that bad, these issues are pretty minor and we're be okay I'm su- BOOM! Dead dad."

And 2. "We really have to have this conversation about a depressing thing we both blatantly already know about but I really don't want to so I keep putting it off."

Got to me. I relate to both those scenarios and it actually made me feel bad.

And Damn poor Joyce. No matter what this series just fuck her over.

the dark twists were necessary IMO. if Rachel turned up alive and well then it would just be another adventure game.

the f***ed up stuff in the dark room is what makes the game so memorable. they build up characters that you care about, then they hurt them in terrible ways.

I kinda don't like Rachel. She's based on Laura Palmer and Just like her she was great until they actually showed her being a generic girl.

In BTS she's just a whiny manipulative lying slut and it just kinda hurts the original game.

Some things are best left unseen.

I quite liked how they handled Rachel in Before the Storm. It fits really well with one of the conversations Chloe has with her dad later in the game.

I hated this about her honestly. Everyone kept talking about how amazing she was, how perfect she was, how mysterious she was, without once explaining why they felt that way. I wasn't at all convinced she was who they said she was so I never bothered with the Before the Storm episode.

It also helps that I have an undying hatred for Chloe so it's not like I was ever going to give it any consideration.
