Underground, across an entire ocean, to a whole other continent in seemingly no time at all?

I dont care if Zidane got the party to ride giant spider things some of the way, they never would be able to get across an entire ocean as fast as they did. Especially without carrying huge swaths of food with them. And with Quina? What the hell would they have eaten in a giant cave beneath the ocean floor?

Is their world so small that you can walk across an ocean in a few days? Didnt it take Frodos group in LotR a few days just to get through a mine that went through a mountain? What the hell was going on there?

That's kinda just how rpgs work. They generally give you no time references, because otherwise it would make no damn sense.

In the last week I crossed a continent by foot, hopped into a space shuttle, went 4 galaxies over, bought a sword, came back, walked across another continent, and killed some dude in armor who invited me over there and was kind enough to wait patiently at the end of the dungeon.

Since vesperia, Ive always been under the assumption that we only see things in game that are relevant to the story or side quests in some way.

It explains why, in Vesperia Karol has that throwaway line early in Act 1 about someday visiting a bunch of places with unique locales that we never actually see

it would be weird to be walking across and somehow learn you just walked through a city, but to you, it was just an empty field
