I watched it as it came out, originally. It'll be nice to see it all at once, instead of over 7 years. I'm 8 episodes into season 1, and there's a lot I didn't remember.

Deb is a lot hotter at the beginning of the show, there's a lot of "Exposition, this is the exposition! Look over here, it's exposition!" and I have absolutely no memory of LaGuerta being romantically into Dexter.

Such a great show until it went off the rails.

It was OK when he followed the rules: "Only go after those who somehow escaped the system/found a loophole to get away with it".
Then he starts cheating to make sure the police doesn't get the guys, to get them for himself.

If the show had all the minutes and hours in the world, LaGuerta would've attempted to get it on with almost every single guy within her precinct....except Masuka.

I found LaGeurta strangely attractive

IIRC, Laguerta being into Dexter was a remnant of her book personality who wasn't nearly as good at her job and slept her way to the top.

The first four episodes were truly great. The biggest crime was Major Season 2 spoilers Doakes gets killed off way too early in the show

Then it progressively gets worse and worse. I think season 5 was somewhat decent except the ending was shit, season 6 was very predicatable and overall lame, season 7 was the best since season 4 and I couldn't finish season 8 because it was so bad.

I remember when everyone talked about season 7 and how Doakes was returning, there were so many bizarre theories like robo-Doakes or how he'd appear as a zombie and yell out surprise, MF!

Zombie Doakes haunting Dexter for an entire season would've been a brilliant, crazy idea appropriate for the show's dark humor.

Yeah, S5's ending made me quit the show. Not only did Deb not find out about him, they reset every single thing back to the status quo. I think they even resolved the plotline where other-cop was suspicious of him off-screen. He just showed up and said "they found some evidence sorry bruh."

LaGuerta is replaced at commanding Lieutenant. The new Lieutenant isn't doing her job, because she's distracted with drama involving her fiance. The Captain comes to LaGuerta to talk about this, and LaGuerta says the Captain is being "sexist."

Keep watching because the twists in that arc basically result in a few "ah hell naw!" moments.
