So I just recently joined the new millennium and there are so many apps and games to pick from! So what apps/games does every one use that are must-haves? So far I have Mario Run, Pokemon Go!, and a music player.

On Android if it matters.

If you want basic shit like solitaire or sudoku, install f-droid and get them from there.

People whine about their data being mined when they were fucking stupid enough to get a 2048 app which asks permission to activate the microphone. Stuff you get from f-droid won't have problems like that - it's all FOSS, tiny app sizes, and sane permission requirements. (Often none at all)

Yeah I tried a couple games that wanted access to like Pictures, Location, Contacts and other stuff. I was like "lolnope" and uninstalled them.

How would I install F-Droid or where can I find it? The Google Play store gave no results for it.

2 Dots - Fun little puzzle game, fantastic artstyle and music. But a pain in the neck sometimes with difficulty and "stamina" systems

Pixel Dungeon - There are many iteratives of this game on android. This game is pretty fast paced for a rouge like, hard as heck too (like, cant get past dungeon world 1 hard) if you like that kind of thing

Swordigo - I think this game is a bit old, its a solid platformer adventure game, artstyle isnt the best, but plays very solidly. And its free

It's a standalone website. You download the apk and it gives you what is effectively an alternate appstore. The apps in it follow some stricter guidelines which you can read about on the site but, the important thing here is they're generally more privacy-friendly, and usually slimmer resource-wise.

Puzzle and Dragons is my personal favorite. Pretty unique puzzle game with a pretty big roster of cards. It's got a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it it's damn fun.

Fire Emblem Heroes is pretty dope too, but it's a pretty chunky download.
