today i got covered in dog poo and bit by a cat hard enough to bruise my hands

no puncture though

Wtf how's that even possible

My cat once bit me through two layers of a blanket and it punctured the skin but left no bruise. Their teeth are so pointy

Is it rare to find purebread animals? Also are longhaired cats preferred over short ones?

I want to adopt a cat, but I want a longhaired domestic, or longhaired purbread type (Maine Coon, Ragdoll, Angora, Norwegian and Siberian Forest Cat etc.), are they hard to find in shelters?

not enough to support myself in this area on one income! 127% of the minimum wage: and I have a ton of technical skills and do a lot of work. That's after many years of employment. Workplace is fair and every employee in the same position makes the same wage with the same experience, annual raises, it's all laid out as a pay scale chart

Charity work and working with animals are two things that pay poorly, together they make for a shoestring budget

It's not rare. There's usually a few purebreds in every month. Ragdoll, Maine Coons, Chocolate Lab, Bull Mastiff, Belgian Shepherd, Beagle, Chihuahua, etc.

We usually have several long-haired cats around. They're somewhat less common than domestic shorthair cats, but also less in demand. If you want a long haired friendly cat a shelter is a great place.

We've had several pairs of long-haired bonded cats this year alone
