If you're in American Idol you sing songs that are familiar and meant to be appreciated by the general public. Then showing someone who actually tried to do something and making fun of them is just mean, especially when most people making fun of them wouldn't have the balls to go on a stage and do the same thing. So either it's someone who was being egged on multiple times along the way, told how good they were, and making them feel like they were better than they were just so people can laugh is just fucked up. Laughing at someone for actually trying and putting themselves out there is just mean.
