Of course it does, the study was conducted by GLAAD. They're obviously going to do everything they can to stuff their numbers like a 13 year old's padded bra, much in the same way feminists try to expand the definition of feminism to include almost everyone, even those who share 0% of their agenda.

The numbers add up.

The usual statistic is 10%. LBG for ages 18-51 in that poll are 9%-12%.

The reason it's higher than usual is because Asexuals and Trans were acknowledged, and all fall under the LGBTQ label.

Isn't it kind of weird that they are all lumped into the same acronym like that? LGB are all attractions, whereas T and I'm sure some other letters of the acronym are gender identifications. So you've got two separate things (attractions and identifications) that you're trying to fit into the same acronym.

Does this even count as a study? There's no methods, data collection, analysis, or conclusion. Just some polling without any screening for bias or mentioned analysis, no posted confidence intervals or p values... Did I miss something? Studies so poorly designed are rife with bias.

If this were true, and the op were true as well, it could also mean that other generations have less than 4% who came out as LGBTQ, like boomers who this could be true for since they're so old and a larger generation. But I'm pretty sure your 4% statistic is off anyway.

Polls like these are always targeted and thus the numbers used are always flawed and tend to be wrong.

If I'm not mistaken, that'd be the Q, if it's used as an umbrella term for "queer". Some groups expand it to be specific as LGBTQIA+ (including intersex, asexuals, and any others not specifically mentioned that are outside the gender/orientation majority).

The acronym's in danger of becoming alphabet soup, but the sentiment is a good one.

I agree. This is one of those liberal trends that I'd like to stop. Not acceptance of gays or whatever sexual it, but pushing it as an agenda and getting everybody to fit into a LGBTBBQ box...

You're never going to get me to complicate this shit, you're gay/straight/bi/other. Some of my friends here identify as pansexual or asexual, though in the case of the former it seems more like a kink is involved, and the latter seems grossed out and uninterested in sex which makes more sense but doesn't really belong with these categories.
