If you asked me 3 years ago where I was on the political spectrum, I would have said "center-left". But seeing Trump and his insane cult inspired me to learn much more about politics and the more I learned the farther to the left I went, and now I'm as hardcore left as you can get. And I know I'm not the only person Trump and his supporters had this effect on. So thanks for that, I suppose.

I think that's mostly the internet being a bit for vile than in person conversations. I've not heard anyone remotely as vile in person yet about politics on either side.

Also I would tend to agree that I called myself mostly in the middle, but after Trump was elected siding more and more with 'left' viewpoints. I still sure as shit wouldn't call myself a member of any party though.

It really does. I felt neutral at first as well. I almost voted for Romney. If he would have won over Obama I would have been just fine. I don't think I'm permantly pushed to the left. I think it's just while Trump is in office. Hopefully I'll drift back neutral when Republicans get candidates that aren't complete morons like Trump

Elements of American conservatism annoyed me before, but now I just can't stand any of it. The far left's response to them also made me hate them too. In terms of US politics, centrists and people like them are all I can stand these days.

(I also want to make clear that at no point did I see Admiral making politically biased moderation actions. Just so no one mistakes what I just said there as that.) You word posts in ways that you know will 'trigger' people who disagree with you and then act somewhat obtuse about it when you get some negative reactions. Rather than actually trying to have a discussion on things there are times where it's clear you're just looking for the blow back reaction from the other side or pats on the back from others on your side. Of course there are some people who froth at the mouth at any post you make regardless how innocent it can be, but I can't imagine anyone who sees the posts you make or topics you create and not think you are trying to get a rise out of people with them.

Anyway, just figured I'd voice that since it's something that's been bugging me for a bit. The TC involved being irrelevant to my view, nor am I trying to claim you're somehow the worst at this or something. Just a bit disappointed that this is how you've spent your time here after stepping down.

If the mods aren't going to handle him properly, and the ignore list is useless when he just creates a new alt every week, I don't really want to hear anything about how trolling him back isn't any better.

The DNC's corruption and the clear MSM bias pushed me to the right a little. Like, at the beginning of 2016, the last thing I wanted was for Trump to win, but by election night, I was kind of happy he did.

I went from hating Republicans and disliking Democrats to just hating both parties.

All the right really has is Fox News and talk radio. Most of Hollywood, social media, and the major news networks are strongly in favor of the left.

Not sure exactly what you mean by "the Trump thing," but there has been a lot of corruption uncovered with the Dems, even after the election, that has been swept under the rug by the MSM. I'm not saying that it clears the Trump administration from any wrongdoing, but it seems like the left is overblowing that to distract from their own issues.

In any case, both the Dems and Reps love having this non-stop back-and-forth because it keeps pushing people away from the center and keeps them in power. 2016 should have been the best shot we've ever had at getting a third party to the 5% mark, but both sides of the media made sure that didn't happen.

That's a trip; I was the opposite. I went from Libertarian to Conservatarian after the insanity of the left.
