I work at a diner. Here, you get a meal if you work an 8+ hour shift. Or if you're a cook and don't particularly care about the rules.

When I worked at Arby's we officially got half off, but the manager didn't care if we made ourselves stuff for free.

pretty sure most do. my nephew works at KFC and he says he gets one free meal per shift.

They didn't in all the food places I've worked. Certain managers would let you take whatever you wanted though. The regional though was a complete dick about it.

never worked for them but i heard five guys doesn't care if you eat their food for free assuming you're employed by them.

When I worked at subway, I got a 6" meal for 50 cents. Nobody ever paid tho.

when i worked at pagliacci pizza (a local seattle chain) we ate free, period, as long as we worked that day and didn't take it off the premises. i could flat-out make myself a pizza that would normally sell for $25 and munch on it during my break/closing. all the pizza/salad/breadsticks/fountain drinks i wanted. also got 50% off on food we wanted to take home.

Helped themselves to a cheeseburger, small fries and drink.

Attached the receipt signed with their name to some clip board thing where I assumed they kept track of it all.

I always eat 1-2 free lunches when I used to work at Burger King. i would steal fries ALL. THE. TIME. Which, doesn't matter since I get paid minimum wage.

Yeah when I washed dishes at IHOP I could get whatever on the menu for free for lunch break.

Also a family owned BBQ place would do the same. I could get brisket or even a steak for free on a work shift.
