Including implying that you're going to use a Crucifix as a sex toy on the anniversary of Jesus Christ's brutal death.

Cool mods.

Would it be okay if someone said they were celebrating the first day of Ramadan by wiping their ass with a picture of the prophet Mohammed?

I agree with you that southern Baptist churches and the like are trash, but since when is it okay to cite one bad minority at representative of an entire group? That's some Trump-style MAGA bullshit.

The problem is that that is what Christianity is known for. I agree its not ok to generalize 2.2 billion people of different sects, but the southern baptists and the evangelicals have all the power right now.

The western world is bringing in mass migration of Islam to counter Christianity. Islam is for them a tool to combat Christianity and the mores and civilization borne of it and culminating in the West.

Don't you dare bash or disrespect Islam and the prophet Mohammed (PBUH) as that would be considered Islamophobia and is blasphemy or a hate crime as the west likes to label it.

So if someone gets called a name by a couple Latino persons, it's okay to say "Fuck all Mexicans"?

Like seriously, you seem to really overestimate must how few of these Bible beater hatemonger Christians are actually out there. They're loud and they're awful. But they're an incredibly small percentage.

Im part of a mainstream church and my pastor, an openly gay dude, is getting married to his boyfriend in June. Just got invited to their wedding a week ago. Did you know that in polls a MAJORITY of Christians support gay marriage and LGBT affirmation?

Kind of like you're overselling Christophobia.

Also, how do you reconcile Christianity being the true word of God with the fact that it had to undergo many changes over centuries to be as accepting as your church? What about the fact that not all versions of Christianity share the same views? Did God get it wrong until recently? Why does he tell different variations of truth to different Christians?

The point of this thread isn't I'M OFFENDED :'( The point is that calling someone a nerd is somehow moddable, but posting that you're going to desecrate imagery of a religious icon isn't. Is that not hypocritical?

It's more than likely because most atheists that you encounter online live in areas with a large Christian population. Those atheists grow up immersed in culture that's been heavily influenced by Christians and even grow up in Christian households. They're familiar with Christianity and bash it because it's all around them. With Islam though that's not the case.

All of which simply demonstrates that everyone (forget 'liberal' or 'conservative' labels) tends to foghorn the cases that seem to support the point they want to make, and have less to say about the ones that don't. Every case you can think of where your "usual suspects" failed to condemn something as strongly as they should have done can be countered with a case of silence and indifference from someone else's "usual suspects".

For instance, it seems an uphill struggle to convince Westerners that Muslims are victims as well as perpetrators of Islamist fundamentalist terrorism -- because while we hear about high-profile truck attacks in London or Paris, few bother to even mention it when some takfirist sectarian sociopaths detonate a bomb that slaughters scores at a funeral or a wedding in Iraq or Afghanistan. For that matter, attacks on Christian churches in the Central African Republic or Nigeria rarely seem to generate much heat from "defenders of Christianity" in the USA and or Europe because these particular Christians are in Africa -- and in the USA and Europe, "who cares about Africa, right?"

100% agreed, excellent post
