First off, this topic is meant to be rhetorical and philosophical, I don't support discrimination on what I believe to be basic human rights.
That out of the way (though it wont stop this topic from being modded.), if we're willing to accept collateral rights violations by using a broad standards approach, why is it such a problem to narrow it to first include those with a statistical higher average violent crime rate, ie black men? If gun control works, this approach would net a higher gun crime reduction per infringement, so why not this more optimal approach? "because discrimination is wrong." I agree but why do you think so? "because people are treated unfairly for the the actions of others."
