I don't know--Jesus does kind of have a smooth voice. He's kind of the calm in the middle of all the chaos.

But I haven't been able to figure out if it's an actual live production of the opera or just a live performance of the music.

(For years I thought the real Judas was a black man. JCS used to air every year at Easter, and he was who I pictured as Judas.)

TBH, though, the best role in JCS is Pontius Pilate. He gets the best songs.
