Current Events > I don't get it, I loved the characters from Far Cry 3.

A bunch of people hated them for some reason, but I loved them. The main character and all his buddies.

Kind of reminded me of my friends, tbh.

Of the main kids I only really like the blonde, Vaas is the only one of the characters that was remotely interesting and I think Pagan Min from 4 was simply a better used version of a similar character.

Far Cry 3 had a better story and better characters then Far Cry 4 did, Jason was pretty realistic in his reaction to what was going on.

FC 5 is a silent/mute rookie police officer.

I did as well. I enjoyed the main character's descent into a murdering psychopath and the friends' reaction to it.

Yeah that was a little jarring but I appreciate that they at least tried to go out of their way to explain why that is.

This is probably my only minor gripe going into FC5. I like that I can create a character, but I would have also liked a speaking character with a fleshed out back story and all. It really helps make the world believable to me opposed to a silent protagonist that you're suppose to put yourself in.

Well I guess we have to disagree, I really liked them and thought they were cool and charming.

I love the dialogue between one another and genuine level of concern that they have for Jason as the game goes on. Plus, they actually help him in some way or the other through out the story.
One of my favorite missions is when you have to rescue Oliver (the blonde stoner) and you have to scout out the camp they're holding him in with a sniper rifle.
You see the guards basically pushing him around and you can here the anger in Jason's voice murmuring to himself about how much he's going to hurt these guys if they harm Oliver. He's so concerned for his friend. Makes it all the more satisfying when you do rescue him and you both are escaping on a boat, blasting away at the guards chasing you.

I like the characters more in Far Cry 3 but while I liked most of the story (It kind of drops off when Vaas dies and Hoyt becomes the new antagonist), I liked the story for 4 more overall.
It felt like a more personal story for Ajay (the main character) and Min was a very interesting take on a villain for me. The whole time, I'm just going around blowing his shit up and foiling his rule and he's super chilled about it. Then you get to the ending and it's like "Oh shit, that's why..."
