I think the return is fair. I hope he takes Mark Henry's advice and apologizes to all of the black athletes on the roster.

As a character, he's pretty cool. He's my all-time favorite wrestler and I'll readily admit there's a heavy nostalgia factor behind it. As a person, there are good things about him and bad. What he said was shitty, and I don't think he's made the amends he should have, but I think that was an exception rather than the rule when it comes to his views on the black community and whatnot.

Not that it justifies it, but I don't think he's been the first person to make a horrible generalization over displeasure at who his daughter is with. That's going to define him for a lot of people, but I don't think that's who he is from day to day. I honestly don't.

Don't care for him as a person, but I like him as a wrestler

No, I already thought he was scum. It's pretty obvious if you have even a cursory knowledge of wrestling history. He is a pretty blatant prima donna, who failed at acting (several times), let his ego get too big, and failed to bow out gracefully. He almost singlehandedly fucked over several companies and talented wrestlers for his own ego. Those weren't even the first horrible comments he made; earlier, when his son killed someone in a drunk driving incident, he was on record saying that God wanted the other guy dead or something shit like that. Or, hell, when it was in the headlines that he was trying to cheat on his wife with his daughter's teenage friend. He's a horrible person through and through.

That being said, I'm not surprised WWE would bring him back and act like nothing happened. They only bury controversial wrestlers when they are female.

I watched wrestling in the attitude era. He made a return and even as a kid I knew he was too old...and he was winning over guys he shouldn't be with moves that didn't really work in this time.

He generally seems like kind of a shitty person, and I never cared enough about wrestling to care about him in that aspect. Don't see why his "return" would be exciting when he's like old and decaying now.
