A Yeerk took control of a horse and somehow got morphing powers. I remember it being very creepy and off putting.

The plot with Taylor was more unsettling than anything else IMO.

Is that the one where Tobias morphed into a really hot chick?

Sort of. Technically He becomes a yeerk but since it was in her anyway close enough.

Even more than how the David storyline was resolved?

I don't remember this at all unless you're confusing horse with Andalite? Or did the yeerk take control of like Cassie or something? That might have been it actually

yeah there was a yeerk that took control of her and she made a deal with it - it would stop taking control of other things if she morphed permanently into an animal. but she morphed into a caterpillar and, unbeknownst to her, the natural morphing from caterpillar to butterfly resets the 2 hour limit.

also Visser 3 is an andalite controller

I also seem to remember Jake being controlled by a yeerk at some point

Ah yes I remember that. And the Yeerk was kinda rogue IIRC, and that's why they made the deal, because the Yeerk wasn't totally with the whole Yeerk organization.

I remember this too but I don't remember the exact context.

I read them all a couple years ago but they all kinda mesh together in my head and some things I've already forgotten.

There was one where they Yeerks took over a herd of horses because, spoilers, the horses lived near a secret Area 51 type facility that had a spacecraft.

Yeah, it was a Yeerk who used to be in his brother I believe. They ended up killing the Yeerk by every one taking turns playing Jake while he sat in a shed and the Yeerk starved. But Jake got a lot of the Yeerk's memories in the process, including the memories of his brother getting infected and trying to fight it. Fucked up stuff for a kid's book.

I seem to remember the final memory of the Yeerk being unexplained. Like it was about some big machine with a large eye or something.

Also how was Davids arc resolved? They tricked him into being stuck as a rat or something right?

Yeah. The animorph series was really weird sometimes. It was mostly a YA series with bad writing, but good god when it got real? It got fucking real

Yep.. It got pretty damn dark

Sounds like the Krayak, who shows up later. He was basically the Ellimist, but evil. That shit was weird, too.

They took him on a fake mission that required turning into rats to sneak into some where. They set up some device or cage to trap him for two hours, then they "freed" him onto an island with other rats. I believe Rachel had to stay with him for the two hours, to make sure he didn't get out some how. He spent the whole time yelling in thought-speak and begging to be released. Serious shit.

Also I think towards the end of the series he some how got morphing powers back (probably that douchebag Krayak) and came back. I don't remember if he got killed or what.

The description they go into when Taylor is telling Tobias about the house fire was some real shit.

Also David was the one who's mom was visser 1 correct?

No that was Marco. David was an asshole that discovered their secret so they reluctantly bring him into their fold.

Jesus it's been so long.

My mom didn't even let me read those books back when I was really young, never got it until I actually read them.

Also, The Hjork-Bjarr Chronicles is still my favourite book to come out of the franchise.

Somehow more adult even though it was just about Andalites, and the title aliens.

I thought it was really strange in the end of the series when they started giving people the morphing powers to basically create an army of animorphs. Was such a departure from the rest of the series.

Then of course Rachel dying near the end of the series, and the end of the last book where they pretty much went on a suicide mission to kill the creature that took control of Ax, IIRC

It was actually explained rather nicely.

the Yeerk died inside Jake's head, in in that moment, Jake could see past the barriers of life and death for a brief instant. Crayak, who along with the Elimist live outside of normal space and time, saw him and he saw it.

Later Crayak and Ellimist have that contest duel thing where the Animorphs had to fight like gladiator style IIRC

Oh, for some reason I thought the Crayak was described differently. That makes sense then.
