If I get lucky with categories, I would guess my highest percentage of right answers is somewhere in the 35-50% range maybe? I dunno.

I tend to do pretty well at Final Jeopardys though.

I'm okay I guess. Unless it's a geography category. I'm terrible with those.

I can usually get about 80% of the questions right, unless it's some bullshit category about French poetry or the opera or something like that

really, dude?

you can get four out of every five questions on any given episode correct (aside from "bullshit" categories)?

Pretty much, yes. I can just about 100% run any category related to history, geography, vocabulary/wordplay and other assorted general trivia. I'm about 50/50 on entertainment/pop culture categories, and then literature is certainly a weak point.

I'd say most Jeopardy contestants can probably answer most clues on any given board. The difficult part of the game is timing the buzzer against your opponents.

and not having a brain fart lol. the funniest was the football category from a month or two ago where none of the contestants buzzed in any question

I am pretty bad at jeopardy, unless it is sports then I pwn. On many questions I am not paying 100% attention and cannot figure out what hte clue is alluding to because I didn't know what hte category was.

Otherwise, I am better when I answer in my head instead of saying it out loud. For some reason when I speak the answer i say stupid things.

@Kefiroth You should try out for Jeopardy then. There are a lot of questions throughout each show where no one knows the answer and where no one even attempts to answer.

I've tried it a time or two; never got past the online test though. In my experience, the test questions are considerably more difficult than the ones on the actual show (and also seem heavier on my weaker categories)

I believe they do that because they know people get dumber with cameras rolling on them.

I can do alright, sometimes. If it's a good category I can sometimes get every single one, others I would have no idea. The categories that really kill me are when it's any kind of literature / poetry / art history. That shit is dense.

jeopardy doesn't really have hard questions, they're just very diverse in subject matter. so long as you have a broad set of knowledge you'll be fine
as said the bigger issue is saying it out loud, on camera, in front of other people while playing for real money and needing to hit the buzzer correctly

Some categories are more difficult than others.

Like if the questions are just lines from poetry, if you haven't studied poetry at a college level you have no chance.

idk, they usually use poems you probably read in high school. usually in a poetry category they will have half the answers be about frost, joyce, poe, angelou, cummings, etc.
sure there are the bs questions in there, and certainly you'll know less about them compared to questions about geography, but it's the sort of thing you'd just need a refresher on and not several classes on
