Muffinz0rz 03/24/18 11:31:09 PM #32:	ok i just watched a scene that makes me sympathize with ted a bit so be bought a brand new car, and it's i think season 3 episode 14 or 15, and marshall ~~quits his job~~ so he's freaking out in the car with ted. he's holding a burger, then robin comes in with a massive drippy ice cream cone, then barney comes in with a lit cigar and so ted obviously is trying to tell people to not make a mess, but whenever he tries, they all snap at him because marshall's in a crisis about his job and it makes ted look like he doesn't care as a brand new car owner myself (god bless my parents #privileged) i totally understand ted's frustration and like to think i wouldn't even let anyone in the car in the first place with unsealed food. he still sucks though, barring the rare times when he's single and not giving a fuck about robin or his current stalkery pursuit of random woman #69 --- Not removing this until Pat Benatar is in Super Smash Bros. Dash_Harber 03/24/18 11:42:34 PM #33:	Deny. Ted is a monster. So Ted dates Robin. He dumps Robin because she refuses to go along with his idea of a perfect life. He decides to remain friends with Robin despite their clear differences. Robin and Barney realize they have a lot in common and start dating. Ted decides he doesn't want Barney in his life anymore because he betrayed him. He also decides he has feelings for Robin. He lets it go later. He spends the next few years deciding he is in love with Robin literally every time she starts having a relationship with anyone else, especially Barney, ironically doing the exact same fucking thing he wrote Barney out of his life for. Everytime he gets close, he bullies her to try and force her to believe she can only be happy if she has kids with him and lives in his idyllic family set up. Through the years, he literally only picks women who don't want what he wants and tries to pressure them into being his perfect wife, only to discard them the second it becomes apparent they won't serve his purpose. When he finds out that Barney is trying to propose to Robin, he contemplates sabotaging it, only to 'heroically' change his mind at the last minute. Five minutes later he changes his mind again and tries to sabotage the wedding by making a grand romantic gesture to convince Robin to dump Barney and get with him. It doesn't work and he 'let's her go'. He finds the perfect woman, she dies, and he literally just tells his (asshole) children the story of how he met her so he can get their permission to try and bang aunt Robin again with a grand romantic gesture (despite them being incompatable from the beginning and the fact that he wrote Barney out of his life for the exact same thing), likely leading to another few months of bullying and crying about how she doesn't fit his ideal stereotype before breaking it off again and continuing the cycle of selfish stalking her whenever anyone else enters her life. <cite>Dash_Harber posted [p:898440358] in C/D Robin ... Despite all of Ted's idealistic projections, she never actually "concedes" her stances. I would feel much worse for Robin if she succumbed to Ted, married him, and had kids just for his sake. Secondly, where are you getting the impression that he's the one discarding his partners? All the significant ones left him, not vice-versa - Stella left him for her ex. Victoria left him because she didn't want him being friends with Robin. He and Zoey broke up for career differences. Those are the significant ones at least. He's also a huge asshole to a few other one-episode minors, like Natalie ("I'm just super busy right now"), or Henrietta ("Hooked"), but that's a whole 'nother rabbit hole to go down since he stumbles upon a one-time partner like every other episode.
