Now there are some cats who have no interest in going outside, but most cats I've known want to go outside. If you live in an apartment in the city you shouldn't have a cat.

people basically just use cats and dogs as living stuffed animals. destroy their claws, feed them shitty food, take away their reproductive organs

If you regularly let your cat go to someplace where you have no idea where it is, where it could get attacked by a feral cat, big dog or worse, get hit by a car, or any number of things that you wouldnt know about at the time you let it out.

They're so "baby". Except for eating and peeing/pooping, literally all they do is jump on our lap and sleep when we're sitting, or cuddle outside our bedroom waiting for us, as we do not let them in our bedroom (I set up a camera once to check if they stay outside all night; and they literally do).

They don't even play with any of the toys we buy them, or play with lasers or anything... they literally just sleep.

What if the cat wants to go outside?

Maybe get a toy to play with your cat, or maybe they want attention, or sometimes you need to ignore what they want because it isnt good to put them in danger like that.

Its harder if the cat is used to being let outside, at times they will slip past you but over time an outdoor cat will get used to being an indoor cat.
