Personally I hate them. They're a violent dog breed and I think there should be heavy regulations for people who want to own them.

Good dogs, but also dogs that should only be owned by committed, prepared & responsible owners given how powerful they are. This is problematic, since unfit owners seem to consistently flock towards the breed.

I think they're great dogs. They're not for everyone, the same with most working breeds. I also think that 90 percent of folks (including "Pit Bull" owners) don't know what they actually look like. Most of these dogs running around that that people call Pit Bulls are actually bullies, bully breed mixes or mutts.

They're great dogs, but unsuited for irresponsible owners.

Though, to be honest, most dogs are unsuited for irresponsible owners.

Some of them are mean, like any other breed, but they get a bad rap.

I trust them more than I trust other people.

Awesome dogs with a horrible reputation. A cousin of mine adopted as a rescue. She was emaciated and looked like a skeleton with a bobble head. After regular meals she grew to be an adorable dog that never got over how big she was. She kept on trying to act like my rat terrier, but a 50 pound dog coming over and sitting in your lap isn't as comfortable as a 10 pound dog.

They can be great lovable dogs, but unfortunately garbage people seem to gravitate to them and they get a bad reputation.

Personally I wouldnt mind laws that eventually bred them out of common ownership, until eventually someone would have to have a special license to own one.

Because everyone should have newfoundlands.

The problem is too many morons adopt pitbulls for their aggressive image and then become awful owners.

My sister got a Staffordshire Bull cross pup 3 years ago. We call her Violet, she was the runt of the litter so she's rather short. Adorable and loveable but a killing machine around any other non-canine animal.

I put up red flags when she talked about getting her, but my sister is very difficult to deal with.
