If the thing you feared most was an ant and the way you would least like to die is being burned alive, a roughly human-sized anthropomorphic ant-thing will follow you for the rest of the days and so help you god it will light you on fire when it finds you

Hell fucking no. Anyone who voted "yes" either didn't think things through, enjoys the thought of being murdered horribly, or enjoys the thought of succumbing to an inevitable, anxiety-induced psychosis within, like, months of getting the money at most.

Ill say this would work, but itd be a hell of a gambit. Also better be a big-ass spaceship, since this thing is walking at least 3mph in a straight line, through walls, and thats if you told no one. You better hurry.

You would have to see it everytime before you move though, because otherwise you can't know how long you have before its getting too close. If you get into jail, or hospital or for some reason can't leave your city/country/state etc you're fucked.

I wouldn't take this deal for any amount of money.

Well go ahead and say the IRS doesnt care.

And no, the monster basically transcends physical rules. It cannot be harmed or barricaded in any way.

Itd just phase through bullets, walls, bombs, etc.

Yes, but as detailed above, youd have to be mighty quick to pull that off and escape. Youd have to be in pretty close proximity, and if youd told even two people itll be moving fast.

Are we going by It Follows rules?

Cause the monster seems to be able to sort of rubberband its target to some degree.

Also, hard pass. 100 million wouldn't last as long as you think, especially if you have to uproot your whole life once a year at minimum.

Also, telling someone about the monster doubles its speed, but does that also count if they tell someone?

Not It Follows rules verbatim

Well go honor code here and say that if you told one person and they blabbed about it, youre fine, but if you said hey I can only tell one person about it, so you tell others, the monster can see through your bullshit and would double

Basically each person you intentionally informed about it will double its speed

Does the monster go with the money? As in if I die and leave the money to my family, or give the money to my family before I die does it chase them after my death? Or does it end at my death?

If it ends at my death and my family is set then small price to pay imo. Otherwise no.

Attention passengers this is your captain speaking, it looks like we will be delayed from taking off as there has been a strange baggage spill on the runway we should get the all clear in about 15 minute or so, so in the mean time sit back and relax.

If you die, your family can get the money and the monster will go away. So if you're willing to sacrifice yourself to die that horribly, then you're good.

No. It would just teleport across the Pacific ocean and you'd be dead for misreading the original post, which says it goes in a straight line toward you and teleports across bodies of water.

In fact, if it goes in a straight line toward you, it would just bore its way through the earth. But I'm guessing OP meant on the surface of the earth.

So if you live on a yacht will it just keep teleporting back and forth across the sea unable to get you?

But if you ever reach land, it's instantly right where you are...and after a decent luxury yacht that you'd live comfortably on will take a decent chunk of your $ so it's not quite worth it imho.
