When I worked in the NOC at my old job, most of my day was spent calling AT&T, AT&T MIS, Level3, and CenturyLink to either report troubles or get the status of open trouble tickets. I have all of those numbers and relevant options memorized, and I haven't worked there for almost 2 years now.
