Daggers or faeblade primary, chakram secondary.

Mostly Finesse and Sorcery, but I'm trying to catch Might up a bit.

Chain lightning, the "throw dirt and knives" thing, quake, and the rushing behind the guy Finesse thing for spells with Envenomed active. Probably gonna change that rush one.

Wayfarer for destiny.

Most of my points are in Detect Hidden (I like it).

Probably gonna respec to make sure I didn't put any in lockpicking because it's stupidly easy. Then focus on blacksmith, dispelling, persuade. Don't really care about Alchemy thusfar.

Pretty much just run in, stab people and throw my frisbees around, cast spells when I remember.

It's been years, but that's kinda what I did, accept with a arrows for my ranged, instead of chackrams. That scatter shot is sick. Envenomed is really powerful. Blacksmithing is nice to repair your eq in the field. I found detect hidden to be very rewarding to. I found many of the side quest lines to be really interesting. Man, I wanna play this game again. Maybe go sorcerer for a different experience.

It's fun. Like most people, once I got some chakrams, I pretty much used nothing else.

Hit up a Fateweaver.

Changed my ability distribution a bit, maxed out Blacksmithing and Detect Hidden.

Might need to sink some bits back into dispelling.

I'm fairly sure I know how it works, but:

If I buy training in a skill, said point is permanent? So if I fateweave after buying persuade training, it resets to 1 rather than 0?

And the same with racial boosts?

Yes. It's also possible to miss trainer points if you use them in wrong order and there's at least 1 missable trainer. Just a heads up.

the enemies are generally so far spaced apart that if you only use it on the large groups you'll always have it ready. Typically it's not worth it to kill 2 wolves with it or something similar.

Sometimes you meet two wolves who just need to be taught a lesson, though.

I think my main use for it was (when writing my FAQ) farming a niskaru that appeared on the beach of the Dead Kel DLC. You could just kill it, reload, then try again to get rare equipment and accessories. I'm sure you can do similar things with other niskaru, but that's the only surefire respawning one to my recollection.

I believe that's also repeatable, or they always let you turn in more. So, easy money. Of course, money is extra easy to get in the game anyways.

Each trainer will only train you in a skill if you are at or below a certain level in that skill. So, a Novice Blacksmith trainer will only train you if you have 3 or less skill points in BS. However, an Expert BS trainer doesn't care what level you are, since as long as you aren't maxed out, you can train with him. So, it's possible to find a higher level trainer before a low one, use that high level training because you don't know about the lower one, and therefor possibly be outside of the low level trainers training range, therefor missing potential permanent point in that skill.

Couldn't I technically hit a Fateweaver and hold off on reallocating points until training?

Yeah, thats what I did. But its still possible, say with base racials, or a skill book, to accidentally go over the limiting level. So just be careful, and if you see an intermediate or advanced trainer before you find a basic, just ignore it until you find the lower one.

That has a list of where the skill books are and what level trainers for each skill are located, if you feel like using it. Don't have to, but some people like these things.
