It's the kind of pain you get when you haven't really worked a muscle group in a very long time. It's enough to tell me to stop, but I'm pretty sure it's not a precursor to an injury or anything. As with everything else, this is just going to take time to get used to.

So youre sore? I think you can put in more time in the elliptical as you are now, but soreness is making you afraid. Again have faith in your body.

Rode the exercise bike yesterday for 45 minutes. I havent been to the gym since January I think. I was running late and didn't get to check the scale but I am really struggling to get and stay below 170.

I fell off for a few days, but today offered an opportunity to get to the gym (car repairs in a shop right across the street). I went at 3.3 MPH for 30 minutes. My calves weren't having any more than that. Baby steps, right?

Also saw a neat poster that recommended getting a heart monitor. It might be worth my while to pick one up. What's good?

Got a non-motorized reel mower yesterday and apparently 1 hour of using it at my weight is worth almost 700 calories.

And my half acre lot takes like 2 hours.

So that's good.

WWE Superstars working out with Plyometrics...phew.

Stars at 11:00. Be warned, a LOT of jump squats, burpees, and other jumpy jumpy stuff. Oh, and Pilates exercises too. It made me sweat, even if it was only 20 minutes, and I modified it quite a bit cause I can't do all that the way they do.

Second Celtic Warrior Workout I tried. Starts at 8:00. Don't be fooled the "light weight," time of the workout, or the simplicity. Some of these are hard to do, like the push-up lat pulls. I had to modify those, and the lunge/bicep curls. But it made me sweat quite a bit. I need to finish up with a gentle yoga workout, but I am beat already.

Was below 149 this morning, have been noticing that I'm far more sculpted in the core than I was when I started watching what I eat and exercising, and even though I've only lost about 6 pounds from my highest known weight (155), I feel like I've lost a lot of fatty weight and gained a little bit of muscle weight, because I had basically no muscle before and now I have some.

Good progress!

Urine or blood? The urine tests help to make sure you are in ketosis sort of but don't actually give you an accurate level of ketones in your body.

I haven't made much progress numbers-wise, but I'm not sure if I really need to. I'm still sweating after walking for a short while at 3.3-3.4 MPH. I'll need to invest in a heart monitor and a new (functional) scale if I want to keep better measurements and see when I need to step things up a bit.

It's also time to make a more serious effort at dieting. I've made a lot of substitutions, but I'll need to do some hard cuts. That'll take some planning.

#3 in my foray into this workout channel. I took it a little easy and focused on a "recovery" video. 5x5s, drop sets, etc, but again, I don't have all the equipment, so I stayed smart and modified where I needed to. As for today's workout, probably too hot to jog outside now, so a kundalini yoga workout (basically tons of trunk twisiting movements) should be good enough.

Got some MCT oil and Exogenus ketones and started taking those, still going strong on Keto.

I made some Keto "Mac" n Cheese with cauliflower, and it was legitimately the best mac n cheese I've ever had in my life.

I figured the ab workout wasn't enough today, so I tried a modified version of this.

Their version

Pull-Ups/Deadlifts - Pyramid (10-1, 9-2, etc. and back up)

3 sets/50 reps

(only do this with super light weight. I normally do 20-25 reps tops for endurance)

Rows
Lat Pulldowns
Straight Arm Pulldowns (I did squats instead to work some legs)

1 set/50 reps

Bicep Curls

1 lap of a row exercise with a sled track (I think they were pulling 100-150 lbs in the video)

I think my leg muscles have gotten strong enough to push for a higher speed. I was at 3.6 MPH, bumped it to 3.7 MPH out of boredom, and didn't get the tightness that had been holding me back. Whatever that wall was, I can push past it. Pretty soon I'll be up to a jog, and that should finally get some serious results.

Important note:

Head of the Tristar Gym (Firas Zahabi) said that working out should be done for long-term volume, not short-term volume. Know what your maximum is, and do half of that each day. But do it every day. The goal is to not be so sore after you work out that you can't do it again the next day. That way, instead of working out 3 times a week, you can do it 7 times a week and get more training in.

So maybe pushing yourself so far that you feel the pain is not the right way to do it! I would probably go enough to feel some burn, but not enough to be actually hurt afterwards.
