Don't worry Rampage will save the videogame movies. It will be the ironman to all midway videogame universe. Can't wait for NARC, Robotron 2084 and Gautlant.

At this point why does anybody think a live action movie based on a video game would be good.

Warcraft was awesome and so was mortal kombat. I just feel the movie studios don't know how to make movies from games. It's not like games have a basic story anymore. They are pretty complex nowadays. I don't get how books can make grest movies but no one can figure out how to make a game movie.

Why would anybody give a damn about Rotten Tomatoes anyway?

They threatened to remove all reviews, and ban all users who gave Black Panther anything lower than a "Fresh" rating.

There is a big different between most video game stories and stories in books.

A large majority of the time books have too much information for a movie so they have the cut tons and tons of stuff out when they turn it into a movie.

Video games can have a good story, but they are often designed to be paced between and within game play, so events do no directly flow into the next event, there is game play in between, which you can't just turn into a movie, you have to take heavy creative liberties with it to make sense as a movie.

On the other hand, there are games which are so heavily cinematic scene driven with no diverting paths it might as well be a movie already.

I personally have absolutely no desire to see video games I like done in live action, even if I wanted to see a "movie" version I would just prefer it be animated, and perhaps not in a movie but a season of shows so they don't have to try and cram everything into under 3 hours.

That's true with some games. And even then for the gameplay part, that can be easily regulated to action scenes. Heck once again look at mortal kombat, only story it had was from the endings. Yes taking liberties on the movie happened. All acceptable liberties, especially since the movie shaped the rest of the games and the more forever. That is a gaming movie done right. Tomb raider should be easy to make a good story and action. The games have a lot of story in them. Like if they ever made a darksouls games. The more is deep and they could easily make some movies from it. But then of course I'm not a director or anything like that lol but I feel people over think it too much and creative liberties are fine if done right and with care.

Watched it myself and actually enjoyed it. It's a lot like the Tomb Raider reboot games and that's all that's needed. A solid 7/10 for me.

???

Those are all rotten reviews.

Oh you meant all of the racist reviews from the non critics! Yeah, they deleted those. But if you look at the audience reviews there are plenty of negative ones that arent racist.

That's too bad.

I actually enjoyed the story line of Tomb Raider 2013 (and holy shit, can't believe that game is 4 fucking years old!).

I always thought it would have made a great movie
