I read two or three of the books. Even with that little, I got a little tired of the rape, the threats of rape, and the protagonist being like a hundred different chosen ones.

Oh and apparently the later ones just became straight Ayn Rand propaganda. I can believe that since I read the sequel book to the series (which I didn't know was a sequel). One of the heroes explains how the bad guy developed support and basically describes "welfare queens" who support evil because they don't want to work.
