I just started the PC version on Tuesday.

20 hours in, 90% of doing fetch quests, I am already on chapter 5.

I enjoy the game right now, but I feel like I am going to finish this within the week at the rate I am playing.

The main quest is way to short. I agree. Go out exploring and doing Hunts and go camping when you can. Thats where the story truly shines.

I'm 60 hours in, level 59, in chapter 10.

I feel like i'm early in the game...but everyone makes it out to be like i'm already heavy in to the midgame..could I get some confirmation? I just finished getting my car back from the impound (stealth mission).

That's pretty close to midway.

Chapter 9 is when it starts railroading you into story stuff with no more open world unless you choose to go black in time.

I spent more time after the story ended. Story was not that good and I kind of enjoyed the harder dungeons with uninterrupted gameplay.

Sorry to say it, but thats the way the game is. It goes:

Intro, dozens of hours of side quests, and then ALL of the story crammed into the end. They did a HORRIBLE job with paving the story.

Btw, the gameplay is not going to get better.

Gladiolus can be played after he leaves for chapter 7(he comes back in chapter 8), prompto and especially ignis are best left for after the story.

I honestly tell people, if you havent played it yet, get ff12 zodiac age instead. Far superior game. But I actually enjoy ffxv for what it is.

I already played the original. I am just stuck on what jobs to make my characters since it is permanent >__>

Well in zodiac age you can have multiple jobs which makes things more interesting lol
