It's when the world around you is customized for you. Health studies are done with white people as the primary test subject. Any product you buy off the shelf (bandaids, hair products, etc) are readily available everywhere. You can get your haircut at any default store. The majority of movie stars, super heroes, the cast of the majority of shows, and anything in media will primarily be your race. You won't be pidgeoned hole into anything.

At school and work, you will more than likely be surrounded with people who share your culture. Your bosses and their bosses will see eye to eye in a lot of things because you had a culturally similar upbringing. All your holidays are celebrated around the country.

I'm not saying being a minority sucks because living in America is pretty great for everyone. However, it's silly to think living in a country designed for you isn't great.

Its just classism wrapped in with pertinent education and contacts and staying out of trouble, at least in the eyes of a background check. And aside from the last point, diligence and hard work means you can still get somewhere usually unless you just got a lot of other people dependent on you.

Yes they do. If you are a white male living in Japan, you'll have a much tougher time. For your other questions, if you are a white male, living in an area with less whites, than it's a mix. Your media and products are still designed for you, but people around you will be biased for one culture.

Yes they do. If you are a white male living in Japan, you'll have a much tougher time. For your other questions, if you are a white male, living in an area with less whites, than it's a mix. Your media and products are still designed for you, but people around you will be biased for one culture.

Sounds like nonsense - goods and services are designed to get the most dollars. That may or may not have anything to do with skin color. It usually doesn't have anything to do with skin color.

It might be the case that more services/goods are specifically featuring white actors or white models or whatever, but how do you know that isn't a function of the population being mostly white rather than some inherent effort to cater everything to whites? Sounds like SJWs use this concept of white privilege as a way to beat down or diminish the success some people attained.

There's only one country I know of where having lighter/whiter skin nets you a social advantage, and that's Thailand.

Srsly. Like I said earlier, there's skin whitening products errywhere. It's quite amazing and funny. All the high class Thais are as pale as ghosts!

You get the most dollars by designing for the majority and appealing to the most people. It's not just about skin color. For example, think of hair. I personally need to drive an hour to go to an Asian salon and wait an hour because there's no one else around me that can cut Asian hair. Plus the lady there doesn't even speak the language I speak so I have to pantomime stuff to her.

It's stuff that white people take for granted. That's why they don't notice it. I don't think people can really understand it unless they lived somewhere where they are the minority. The closest thing I can think of that's not as drastic as going to a foreign country is just spending a day in Chinatown and imagining that's your life for years as a minority.

So think of this. All around you are posters of Chinese people. Chinese movies. Chinese tv shows. It's mostly Chinese restaurants but you see some traditionally Western restaurants scattered around to spice it up. There's a parade for Chinese new year, but you don't celebrate it with your family so you don't really get any of the traditions surrounding it.

When you go shop at the farmer's market, you know you're suppose to be bargaining but you're not really too sure how it's suppose to be doing it because that's not how you were taught growing up. All the Chinese kids went to the market with their parents though. They know how to get the best deals. But honestly, there's just not a whole lot of stuff you get with the culture.Their upbringing is just very different. They celebrate different gods, points in history, and historical figures. They really love Mao Zedong though even though for some reason the American schools talk badly of him. However, they don't know any of your ancestors. There's also a lot of love for Sun Wukong and the Journey to the West books. It's a classic. When you mention some of favorite mythical figures like Hercules, they just kind of look at you with a bewildered face. Who the hell is Hercules?

And I want to be clear, I don't think there's some elaborate plot to make stuff for white people in America. But when you are the majority, it just happens. That culture is the norm and everything is designed for that. I don't think it's insanely hard to be a minority, but there's definitely stuff people in the majority take for granted.
