I never thought it was reasonable. Teachers are allowed a certain amount of time for a lecture and it is on a tight schedule. Making children late to their late and then next class then sets the rest of the day behind for others. It's inconsiderate on the teacher's part. If its a few minutes, sure. If its a few seconds just so she can finish her sentence or thought, then that is absolutely reasonable.
