Sneaky Pete was originally conceived by Bryan Cranston and the pilot picked up by CBS. The pilot is about a conman named Marius in jail who is about to be released. Unfortunately, once he is released he is very likely going to be immediately murdered by Bryan Cranston who plays a mob boss and was on the wrong side of Marius' con. Marius decides to adopt the identity of his talkative cell mate Pete whom he looks similar to and upon release goes to Pete's extended familys' home whom the real Pete hasn't seen in a ridiculously long time. They run a bailbond business and the Matriarch is Margo Martindale playing a role eerily reminiscent of Mags Bennet but different.

The first episode is your standard case of the week stuff, pretty good but nothing special. CBS didn't end up going forward with the show so only one episode was shot. Two years later, Graham Yost-- the man behind Justified-- was hired on as showrunner and brought a lot of his crew, revamping the show into an awesome serialized saga. Marius has one week to give the mob boss Bryan Cranston a ridiculous sum of money or else Cranston is going to kill Marius' brother. Marius notices that Pete's grandma has a safe in the bail bond office and begins a long con to free his brother and himself from Bryan Cranston. It's a spectacular show made even better by a phenomenal supporting cast including Alison Wright, Jacob Pitts, and many other former Justified/Americans actors along with plenty of fresh faces.

Watched 5 episodes, the cons are crazier than season 1. So good.
