My mommy-o has dese two new kittens about 8 - 10 months old. One of them got sick and started throwing up, wouldn't eat or be active at all. So she went to the vet with it. Vet had it go through an x-ray scan and wanted to keep it over night for observation. The next day they said "couldn't find a problem, probably an infection. Please call us again if it gets worse, also that will be 1,041.99 US American freedom dollars, please"

Fucking what.

Like, the next fucking time my mom's cat looks to be sick she's not gonna go get ripped off just for you to say there's nothing really wrong. And if there is, then it's gonna suffer more than it needed to. Literally the only possible conclusion is that vetenarians are evil people who get boners from animal suffering.

I love my pets, but it's really hard to justify the cost of going to the vet. Especially if you don't have much extra money.

Right. Vets are just evil and out to get you. Puking and lethargy aren't a vague clinical sign at all. Equipment, monitoring etc... that's all free too.

A "sick" kitten is very hard to diagnose. They don't want to house it for 2 weeks and then take your house as collateral. If the vitals are fine otherwise, it probably isn't serious. It sucks that tests and stuff cost so much :(.
