Today we're launching the new and improved FAQ Bounty system with $20,000 in bounties listed. Bounties can now be locked by authors in order to ensure they get paid for their work. We've also streamlined the claim process in order to pay out the bounties more quickly and to prevent having to fill out paperwork multiple times. You can check it all out at the link below:

A day late but definitely not a dollar short, we're launching the new and improved FAQ Bounty system. You can find it here:

First and foremost, you'll notice that we're offering up a lot more money now. In fact, there are $20,000 worth of bounties listed. We also bumped the remaining four bounties from the old system up to $200 and are still offering them as well.

You'll also see that you can now lock bounties, ensuring that once you start work on a guide, you will be allowed to claim the bounty and not have it sniped by someone else. Do note that you have to apply for the lock and it is at our discretion whether or not we award it to you. Locks can also be lost if the guide isn't updated in a timely manner.

Another improvement is that we now keep all of your documents in a single, secured location, meaning that you only need to submit them to us once and not every single time you claim them. It will also result in a streamlined claim experience, as we will no longer require the initial back and forth with approving your submission then sending and receiving the documents and so on.

We still aren't fully done with the backend, but we can accept and issue locks and you are welcome to begin working on these guides.

I'm not saying it's new, I know the bounty system has been around for awhile.

But the system seems backwards now. Why offer $2.5k for RDR2 when it comes out when you know you could offer far less and still have people to write one? It's not like you're going to beat IGN or anyone to the punch in getting one out there.

No, the domain change was so that GameFAQs could do this bounty increase. The extra revenue from the domain change is funding this.

That's my point. Allen cited profits as a reason that we had to give up the domain name after ~20 years, and then he turns around and uses the extra money on bounties. Wouldn't that put us right back at "not enough profits"?

I don't recall him saying the site was unable to be supported under the old domain - rather that the domain change was more to just have more money to throw around
