Water has 75 calories per glass so yes, it interrupts your fasting.

Depends under what context

under the context of that new fasting thing where you fast like 48 hours a month or whatever and it regenerates your stem cells and stuff

What sort of hokey psuedo-science told you that?

@Dash_Harber i'm calling you out on post 8

No need to call me out. It's been a day, I just hadn't looked it over yet. No need to get hostile, I stand corrected. It sounded like some fad diet, but it clearly has been researched and should be peer reviewed some more.

Yeah, that "study" is full of crap. Oh it has pretty pictures and graphs, but it's kind of glossing over one extraordinarily important detail: We drink water every day, and yet no one has experienced any of these so called miracle effects. Also, the list of authors? When publishing a study, you are supposed to list your scientific credentials. None of those people had the appropriate annotations.

This is not a suitable clinical trial and is not appropriate to recommend changes to human behaviour. There is about 1 page worth of data on the human trial (with 38 participants), and they only measures surrogate markers (i.e. nothing they measured is actually clinically relevant to the person). The closest this comes to being useful is the suggestion that it could reduce fasting glucose levels.

If you're going to criticise the article, at least tell the truth. The author affilliations you are looking for are right there on the second page

No, their credentials; PhD's, Bachelors degrees, things like that.
