It does seem to me that Conservatives are relatively content with status quo and only get riled up when changes appear to disrupt their routine. I think that meshes with the observation that Conservatives prefer routine comfort over new experiences. I would also agree that Liberals, or rather Progressives, are more likely to be discontent with a good situation because they think it could be better. Pursuit of perfect becomes the enemy of the good. At its worst, they'll make bigger and bigger deals out of smaller and smaller issues.
