Somehow Americans went from being desensitized to everything a generation ago to absurdly hypersensitive these days. Nation of wimps, I tell ya.

The band isn't even from the US.

The Americans complaining about the band are from the US, obviously.

Yes, but the band decided they didn't have the courage to embrace their past behavior and decided to hide.

No. They still could have potentially performed at least 13 of their shows.

20 - 13 = 13?

Where did you learn math?

Too bad. Remember when art was art? Those days were more fun I think.

Art has NEVER not been political, and its hilarious and a clear sign of a lacking education that you think otherwise.

Ah, so those days before the SJWs ruined art refers to cave paintings.

How about this, ever since human civilization has had codified laws, religions, or rulers/politics, art has been political.

Out of all the examples of art in the world and you choose cave drawings. What a truly dumb post

You're taking much too broad a definition of "political" or too narrow a definition of "art" if you believe politics are a core tenet of it.

Lots of art is political, but it certainly doesn't have to be.

I didnt say all art is political or that it has to be. But rather that politics has always had a part in art, so to talk about the days when art was just art is incredibly misinformed

Wut?

Read it again
Shortly after learning this afternoon that the San Diego date of Taakes upcoming North American tour has been canceled, we got word that one more show has gotten the axe with another in jeopardy: The Portland Mercury is reporting that the April 9th show at the Hawthorne Theatre in Portland, OR has been called off, while those with tickets to the March 29th show in Lexington, KY have reported being issued refunds. That would bring the total number of shows canceled or in doubt to ten out of the tours 19 total stops.

The above news inspired Metal Insider to look into every remaining show on the tour, and what they found out is this: all but two of the venue websites have either updated the show status to canceled or removed the listing entirely. In other words: this tour is done.

7 shows previously cancelled or in doubt
3 shows cancelled and issues refunds on the same day as article
This leads to the writer checking the website and seeing that 5 more shows have also been cancelled with only 2 left (likely not updated yet).

It sounds like 12 of the 19 shows were cancelled on the one day. That's probably due to the band.

Art, especially politically or religiously controversial art, has never just been ignored and let be though.

And the people that were cool have always been the ones to want it to persist and be seen, however offensive it may be. Totally not punk rock, man.

It's like the conservatives being upset at mean video games and 'violent' rap groups and trying to get them off of shelves.

That was back when those artists stood by the art regardless of the criticism and didn't cry because people didn't like it. Used to be you'd cover yourself in shit and put on a grin when people told you to go away. Nowadays you can't wave around a swastika without crying and stammering how you didn't mean to offend anybody and if anybody did get offended they were meanie heads and you're just gonna take your art and your ball and go home.

Yes. They did likely cancel more than 3/4 of their own shows. That's my point.

I doubt 10 venues decided to cancel their show on the same day.

I don't know who they are or what they allegedly did, but I do know sexual assault is a crime, while painting a symbol on yourself is not.

Surely you're not conflating the two.

Young and in the Way toured with Taake shortly after the alleged sexual assault, and when confronted with the allegations Taakes response was along the lines of we dont care, keep this drama off the internet.

The point here being that they have a pattern of being shitty people who shouldnt be supported, and are finally getting their just desserts, not that there was this one instance of using a nazi symbol
